NCT, which stands for Neo Culture Technology, is currently one of the most popular K-pop groups. The group has a large number of members, currently 21 at the time of this writing. Because the group is so big, NCT has been split into various sub-units: NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, and NCT U (which rotates members from the other subgroups). With so many members, NCT has a wide age range with some members still in their mid-teens, while others are already in their mid-twenties.
As of June 2022, these are the 10 oldest members of NCT. This list will be updated as needed.
10. Jungwoo (February 19, 1998 – Present)

Jungwoo is the only member of NCT born in 1998 and is right in the middle of the group when it comes to age. Before joining SM through its weekly audition, Jungwoo graduated from Gimpo Jeil Technical High School.
In 2017, Jungwoo was introduced as a member of SM Rookies and made his first public appearance in Super Junior Yesung’s comeback MV, “Paper Umbrella.” Jungwoo is currently a part of sub-unit NCT 127.

9. Winwin (October 28, 1997 – Present)

Winwin is another Chinese-born member of NCT and part of the group’s Chinese sub-unit WayV. In 2009, Winwin was admitted to the Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy. He ended up being ranked first in the Chinese Classical Dance department.
Because of his solid dance background, Winwin is one of NCT’s strongest dancers. Winwin joined SM Rookies in 2016 and debuted with NCT two years later.
Recently, there have been rumors that Winwin left NCT, but SM Entertainment confirmed that he was just focusing on activities in China. As of the time of this writing, Winwin is still part of the group, but has been on hiatus.

Winwin has a deep fear of strangers and initially thought the SM agents were scammers. It took two years of continuously being scouted by SM for Winwin to finally come around.
8. Jaehyun (February 14, 1997 – Present)

Jaehyun, who was affectionately dubbed “Valentine Boy” because of his birthdate, is one of two NCT members born in 1997. He is one of the members who is fluent in English because he lived in the U.S. for five years from the ages of 5 through 10. Along with several other NCT members, Jaehyun was first introduced in 2013 as part of SM Rookies. In 2016, Jaehyun officially debuted as part of NCT U.

While he was still an SM Rookie, Jaehyun made a guest appearance on Disney Channel Korea’s Mickey Mouse Club.
7. Ten (February 27, 1996 – Present)

Ten is another foreign-born member of NCT and comes from Bangkok, Thailand. In 2010, Ten shot to fame when he won he Thai television show Teen Superstar. Ten was offered a contract with Starship Entertainment, but ended up turning the offer down. A few years later, Ten joined SM Entertainment after passing SM’s global auditions. In 2016, Ten debuted as part of NCT’s first subgroup NCT U.

In 2014, Ten and other future NCT members participated on the show Exo 90:2014, remaking K-pop songs from the 90s.
6. Doyoung (February 1, 1996 – Present)

Doyoung is one of the members of NCT born in 1996. He is a member of sub-unit NCT 127 and often a part of NCT U. Doyoung comes from a small province in Korea and has always loved music. As a child, Doyoung learned to play the flute as well as the bass. In high school, Doyoung won 1st place in a local singing contest.
Doyoung was first introduced in 2015 as a pre-debut trainee in 2015. He made his official debut a year later as part of NCT U.

Doyoung has an older brother, Gong Myung, who is an actor and a member of the band 5URPRISE.
5. Kun (January 1, 1996 – Present)

Kun is one of several NCT members from China and is the oldest of the bunch. Besides Taeyong, Kun is the other official leader of an NCT sub-unit, WayV, which consists of NCT’s Chinese members. Kun was born and raised in Fujian, China and graduated from Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. In 2015, Kun was introduced as part of SM Entertainment’s pre-debut training team SM Rookies, along with fellow Chinese members Winwin and Renjun.

Not only is Kun a strong vocalist, he is also a songwriter and composer and WayV’s next album will feature some of his self written songs.
4. Yuta (October 26, 1995 – Present)

Yuta, who hails from Japan, is the third member of NCT born in 1995. Like other foreign members of NCT, Yuta passed the SM Entertainment global audition held in his country as a teenager. After training for over three years, Yuta made his debut in 2016 as a member of sub-unit NCT 127.

Yuta has several nicknames alluding to his Japanese heritage, including Guardian of Takoyaki, Osaka Prince, Takoyaki Prince, and Yakisoba Prince.

Johnny is the second oldest NCT member and the only member from the United States. While he is ethnically Korean, Johnny was born and raised in Chicago. In 2007 when he was about 12 years old, Johnny participated in SM Entertainment global audition in Chicago and was then recruited by the agency. After a few years, Johnny was introduced as one of pre-debut training team under SM Entertainment called SM Rookies in 2013.
