NCT is currently one of the biggest (in popularity and number of members) boy groups in the K-pop industry. As of this writing there are 23 members of NCT (not all of them are currently active). We’ve already covered the oldest members of NCT and now we’re highlighting the group’s 10 youngest members. Almost all of NCT’s youngest members are all in their early 20s; maknae Jisung will be turning 20 in a few weeks. Many of these young NCT members have been in entertainment since they were children. These talented young men have already shown that they have long careers ahead of them.
10. Hendery (September 28, 1999 – Present)

Hendery, who is originally from Portuguese Macau, is a member of NCT’s Chinese sub-unit WayV as well as NCT U. He is one of WayV’s main rappers, lead dancers, vocalists, and visuals. In 2018, Hendery became a member of SM’s pre-debut trainee group SMROOKIES. Just a year later, Hendery made his debut with WayV. In 2020, Hendery was added to NCT U.

9. Renjun (March 23, 2000 – Present)

Renjun is one of several NCT members who is of Chinese desent. However, Renjun is currently not part of the Chinese sub-unit WayV. Renjun attended the Beijing Contemporary Music School and graduated with full marks along with fellow NCT member Chenle. In 2015, Renjun was cast into SM Entertainment, through the SM Global Audition in Shenyang, China. The next year, Renjun debuted with sub-unit NCT Dream.

Renjun is a big fan of Moomin, the Swedish characters that look like cute white hippos, and his favorite place in Seoul is the Moomin Cafe.
8. Jeno (April 23, 2000 – Present)

Jeno is another young member of NCT who has been in the entertainment industry since he was a child. He started his career as a child model, appearing in various South Korean commercials. In 2013, at the age of 13, Jeno was introduced as one of the first members of SM Entertainment’s pre-debut team SMRookies. He made his first appearance the following year with fellow future NCT members Mark, Jaemin, Haechan, and Jisung.
Although Jeno initially debuted as vocalist, over the years he has become a rapper. Jeno is also one of NCT’s visuals, aka one of the group’s most handsome members.
Did You Know?
In 2019, Jeno and fellow NCT member Jaemin volunteered to visit children living in slums in Indonesia, in collaboration with non-governmental organizations Good Neighbours International and Gugah Nurani Indonesia Foundation.
7. Haechan (June 6, 2000 – Present)

Haechan first joined SM Entertainment in 2013 through the SM Weekly Audition. The following year, Haechan was introduced as a member of the pre-debut trainee team SMROOKIES. Haechan debuted in 2016 as part of NCT 127. He is the sub-unit’s maknae and one of its main vocalists and lead dancers.
As a child, Haechan attended the Seoul School of Performing Arts. His mother is the person who convinced him to audition for SM Entertainment.
Did You Know?
In 2019, the Los Angeles Zoo named a newborn pudu deer (the smallest type of deer in the world) after Haechan, after his fans raised over $2,500 in approximately 3 hours for the zoo’s conservation efforts.
6. Jaemin (August 13, 2000 – Present)

Jaemin is a popular member of NCT, who was discovered by an SM Entertainment agent while he was handing out posters and collecting trash as a volunteer with his mom at an event in 2013. After his discovery, Jaemin was added to the label’s pre-debut trainee group SMROOKIES. As a trainee, Jaemin performed on several TV shows and at special events.
In 2016, Jaemin made his debut with sub-unit NCT Dream. Jaemin is also part of NCT U.

Just six months after he made his debut, Jaemin took a year-long hiatus so he could recover from a herniated disc.
5. Yang Yang (October 10, 2000 – Present)

Yang Yang, who is of Taiwanese and German descent, is a part of a few NCT sub-unit’s, including WayV, NCT U, and TEN&YANGYANG. He first moved to Korea in 2018 when he became a member of the e pre-debut training team SMROOKIES. The following year, Yang Yang debuted as a member of NCT’s Chinese sub-unit WayV. Recently, in 2021, Yang Yang debuted as part of WayV’s second sub-unit TEN&YANGYANG with fellow member Ten. Yang Yang is the maknae of TEN&YANGYANG, as Ten is four years older.

Yang Yang has a few song writing credits on the NCT songs: “King of Hearts,” “We Go Nanana,” “Only Human,” and “Electric Hearts.”
4. Shotaro (November 25, 2000 – Present)

Shotaro is the second member of NCT who is originally from Japan, after Yuta. He is another new member of the group, who made his debut in 2020. Shotaro’s first appearance was on NCT U’s song “Make a Wish.” He is one of NCT U’s lead dancers, sub rappers, and sub vocalists.
Shotaro was discovered by an SM Entertainment agent who saw him dancing on Tik Tok. He was signed to SM Entertainment in 2019, but did not move to Korea until the following year. Shotaro only trained for a few months before is debut and only started learning Korean shortly before he left Japan.

Shotaro has been dancing since he was five years old when his mother, who is also a dancer, sent him to a dance academy.
3. Sungchan (September 13, 2001 – Present)

Sungchan is one of the youngest and newest members of NCT. He made his debut on October 12, 2020 with the NCT U songs “Misfit” and “Light Bulb.” Sungchan is one of the lead rappers and sub vocalists of NCT U. Unlike almost all of the other NCT members, Sungchan was not an SMROOKIES trainee when he was a young teenager. However, Sungchan had been training for his NCT debut since 2016.

Chenle is another young NCT member that is a part of the sub-unit groups NCT Dream and NCT U. He is originally from Shanghai, China and grew up singing and performing. Before moving to Korea and joining NCT, Chenle performed on TV shows in China. After appearing on China’s Got Talent, Chenle released a few solo albums. He also was part of the World Organization of Child Ambassadors of Peace with HQ in Washington, DC, founded and presided by pianist, songwriter, and producer, Ezekiel Elkin, representing China as a young cultural diplomat around the world.
Did You Know?
When Chenle was only nine years old, he was invited to perform the song Memory from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, Cats, at the Golden Hall of Vienna. At the time, Chenle was the youngest singer to have ever held a solo performance there.

Jisung officially debuted in 2016 as a member of NCT’s sub-unit group NCT Dream. As part of NCT Dream, Jisung is the sub-unit’s main dancer, sub vocalist, and sub rapper. In 2020, Jisung was added to another sub-unit NCT U.
Did You Know?
In 2015, while Jisung was still an SM Entertainment trainee, he appeared on the Disney Channel Korea show The Mickey Mouse Club as a Mouseketeer alongside other SMROOKIES members.
