In 1989, Julian became involved with a production company known as Ghetto Youth International. His first album, A Lion in the Morning, was released in 1996 and was followed by a world tour.
Julian then proceeded to publish other three studio albums, A Time & Place in 2003, Awake in 2009, and, more recently, As I Am in 2019. In particular, Awake was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.
