The Majestic Oak has a rich and interesting history! This tree used to be a part of the Wormsloe Plantation, which is a historic site located on Skidaway Road in Savannah. The Wormsloe Plantation was home to several oak trees, the Majestic Oak being its oldest.
This plantation is now a historic site consisting of an estate of more than 800 acres. It was established by Noble Jones, who was one of Georgia first settlers. Jones was a carpenter by trade, and this tree is one of the oldest surviving trees on the property.
