4. Range Rover (L405)

The Range Rover L405 is considered to be a luxury sport utility car. Although this car was made under the Land Rover brand, it was manufactured by Jaguar Land Rover.

This car has an all-aluminum monocoque unitary body, which was a notable update when compared to its previous steel unibody. This new body made the car significantly lighter.

3. Range Rover (L322)

The third generation of Range Rover cars came out in 2001. At this point, there were several new changes made, one of which was this generation was developed under the BMW company’s ownership.

This range of cars had a production run that lasted a decade. Since it was developed by the owners of BMW, the first vehicle produced was supposed to share various components with a different series, the E38 7 series. However, before the L322 went into production, BMW ended up selling the company to Ford.

2. Range Rover (P38A)

It’s interesting to note that the second generation of Range Rovers came out nearly 25 years after the first! Although no one knows why it took so long, we discovered in our research that that this new range of models had updated features.

Some of those features included an updated engine, better trims, and premium equipment.

The reason the second generation was called the P38A was because P38A was the name of the building where this vehicle was developed.

The Range Rover Velar was actually a prototype that first kickstarted the company’s range of cars. The Velar was first created in 1967 to be used as a prototype for the Land Rover, which eventually came out three years later as a Range Rover. However, production was not continued until 2017.

However, after the official Range Rover Velar was launched in 2017, it has been around ever since.
