Although she was born and raised in America, she was from a family that was of Catalan origin. She was born in California, though her family later moved to Texas, and later on, they moved to New Orleans. However, some years after she was born, her family moved back to Catalonia because of her father’s declining health and financial struggles.
During their traveling to Catalonia, Maria lost the ability to hear in one of her ears after falling from one deck of the ship to another. As an adult, she was married to a man named Joan Moret, and they had three children together. She worked as a nurse during the Spanish Civil War, and some years later, she even became the regional leader of a healthcare organisation called Obra Sindical 18 de Julio.

She even lived independently until she was 107 years old, which is no small feat.
She was married twice, though both her husbands died before she did. Edith was a formidable woman who outlived most of her family, include all six of her siblings.

Naomi Whitehead is one of the oldest people in the USA today! Her maiden name was Naomi Washington, and she has lived in the state of Georgia throughout most of her life! Although we don’t know when this occurred, Naomi married her husband, who was called Sylvester Whitehead. They had three sons together, all of whom she outlived. It’s interesting to note that after she last son died, Naomi left Georgia and moved to Sharon, Pennsylvania.
She celebrated her 110th birthday back in 2020. Her age was later verified by Oliver Trim, Waclaw Jan Kroczek, Robert Young, and Ilias Leivaditis. During that time, she was a grandmother to 4 generations of people! Naomi had 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 49 great-great grandchildren! Elizabeth Francis is one of the oldest people in both the USA and the entire world! At 115 years old, this lady has lived through hundred of historical events, including the sinking of the Titanic and the ending of the Second World War. Although her records state that she was born in St. Mary Parish, she doesn’t know the exact town that she was born in. Elizabeth’s mother died when she was only 11 years, so she was sent to a different town, as were her siblings. Thankfully, she was able to live with an aunt, and she grew up next door to one of her sisters, called Bertha.
Although Elizabeth was married at some point, she raised her children alone, without a partner. She has lived in the same house for the past 25 years, and has continued to live there with her 95 year old daughter, Dorothy. The most interesting thing about Elizabeth, however, is the fact that she is the third-oldest person in the world.
