Gary Crosby is Mary Crosby’s oldest sibling, who came into the world in 1933. He was the first child of Bing Crosby and Dixit Lee.

Gary was born in LA and studied at Stanford University. After his graduation, together with his younger brothers Philip, Dennis, and Lindsay, he decided to found a harmonious singing group called The Crosby Boys. The group performed from the 40s to the 60s and was quite successful.

Throughout his lifetime, Gary also had the chance to duet with the amazing Louis Armstrong and published a 45-single with Sammy David Jr.

Talking about his acting career, Gary appeared on several television programs ranging from The Jack Benny Program, The Bill Dana Show, and Adam-12. He acted in movies such as A Private’s Affair, Holiday for Lovers, and Mardi Gras.

Philip Crosby was born in 1934 and was one of Bing Crosby and Dixit Lee’s twin brothers.

Philip came into the world in LA and grew up with his three brothers. He enrolled in Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, graduating in June 1952. Following his graduation, Philip attended Washington State College studying animal husbandry together with his twin brother.

At 21, Philip inherited $200,000 from his late mother’s trust, but this was not a happy year for him. He had to serve in the Army and was posted to West Germany. Here, he was part of the 24th Medical Detachment of the 10th Infantry Division.

Similarly to most of his brothers, Philip was a talented singer. He was one of the voices in the 1950 record called A Crosby Christmas, which reached number 22 on the Billboard lists.

Thanks to his success with The Crosby Brothers, Philip was featured in successful magazines ranging from Life, on which he made the cover page with his brothers, to Variety, when a journalist wrote a review on their band stating ”CROSBY BROS. Chez Paree, Chicago. Songs 58 Mins. Bing Crosby’s four sons are launched on the cabaret scene in high style. The frères – Gary, Phillip, Dennis, and Lindsay – have a superlative act that is likely to abash those skeptics who surmised the boys would trade merely on the lustrous family name.”

His first wife was a Las Vegas showgirl, Sandra Jo Drummond, from whom he had two children. His second wife, Mary Joyce Gabbard, was an airline stewardess. The two also had two children together.

Third was his wedding to Georgi Edwards, who also used to work as a Las Vegas showgirl. The couple did not have any kids together. Last but not least was Peggy J. Compton, an actress with whom Philip had one son.


5. Dennis Crosby (July 13, 1934 – May 4, 1991)

Dennis Crosby was Philip’s twin brother. He also attended Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose and graduated in 1952. He then went to Washington State University but decided to join the army two years after admission. Even though he was supposed to serve in Fort Ord, he was later relocated to Fort Riley in Kansas for training.

Later, he was sent to West Germany, where he remained for a few years. Similarly to his brother Philip, Dennis inherited $200,000 from his mother’s trust when he was only 21.

Dennis was one of the members of The Crosby Brothers and performed on several shows, gaining fame all over the USA.

Talking about his personal life, in 1958, Dennis married Pat Sheehan, a Las Vegas showgirl, and model. The two had three sons together, Gregory Evan, Dennis Michael Jr., and Patrick Anthony.

Unfortunately, the wedding ended poorly, and the two split up. Following the divorce, Dennis started to date Arleen Newman and married her in 1964. Together they had three daughters.

Lindsay Crosby was the youngest son of Bing Crosby and Dixit Lee. He was born in 1938 in Calabasas, California.

Lindsay went to Loyola High School, from which he graduated in 1956. He then enrolled in Williams College in Massachusetts but left to join the army after a semester.

With his siblings, Lindsay was one of the members of The Grosby Brothers and performed on tv several times, gaining fame all over the US.

Unfortunately, Lindsay decided to commit suicide. According to records, he had drinking and emotional problems. At the time of his death, he was only 51 years old.

In an interview, Lindsay’s father, Crosby, declared, “I guess I didn’t do very well bringing my boys up. I think I failed them by giving them too much work and discipline, too much money, and too little time and attention. But I did my best and so did their mother.”

In another interview, Lindsay was hurt by these words and commented, “I don’t know how our dad could feel he’s failed us as a father. Reading that he had said that in an interview really shook me up. I only hope someday that I can give my son a tenth of what Dad has given us.”
