The Duggars are a controversial family that were the most famous family on TLC during the height of their popularity.
Patriarch Jim Bob Duggar, his wife Michelle, and their 19 kids fascinated audiences for years on their show 19 Kids and Counting. The show provided a glimpse into the lives of the large and religious/conservative family.
From Michelle’s later pregnancies to the courting and eventual marriages of the eldest Duggar children, the show followed along as the Duggars hit traditional milestones. At one point, the Duggars’ show was averaging 2.3 million viewers per new episode and was TLC’s most popular show ever.
Initially touted as a wholesome family show that started in 2008, the show ended in 2015 after the family’s dark secrets came out. After it was revealed that eldest son Joshua Duggar had molested several of his younger sisters when he was a teenager, TLC was forced to cancel 19 Kids and Counting.
However, because TLC had such a close relationship with the Duggars, the eldest Duggar siblings (except for Josh) were given a spin-off show called Counting On, which featured their own growing families.
Unfortunately, Counting On was canceled in 2021 when Josh once again got in trouble and brought swift backlash against the Duggar family. This time he was arrested for possession of child pornography — he has since been convicted for these crimes.
Since then, the Duggar family has fallen out of the spotlight, but for better or for worse, people are still interested in their lives. Read on to learn a little bit about the 19 Duggar children.
19. Joshua Duggar (March 3, 1988 – present)

Joshua Duggar is Jana’s oldest sibling. He was born in 1988 and is currently 34 years old. When he was young, he learned how to play piano from Ruth Anita Anderson and later on started to take violin lessons.
Joshua met his wife Anna at a homeschooling convention in 2006. The two soon entered courtship and got married two years later. The wedding took place in Buford Grove Baptist Church in Hillard, Florida, in September 2008. The couple currently has seven children.
In recent years, Josh has been in the media spotlight due to a high profile child pornography case. Earlier in 2022, Josh was sentenced to serve more than 12 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.
18. Jana Duggar (January 12, 1990 – present)

Jana Duggar is Jim Bob and Michelle’s first daughter and second child. She was born in 1990 and is currently 32 years old.
Unlike most of her siblings, Jana never got married and is currently still single. She lives at her parents’ house, frequently working on several house tasks and projects.
For instance, she built a large tree house for her younger siblings. Jana also takes care of the family’s organic garden and enjoys renovations and redecorating.
Additionally, Jana is in charge of taking care of the younger Duggar siblings as well as her nieces and nephews.
17. John-David Duggar (January 12, 1990 – present)

John-David is Jana’s twin brother. He was born just a few minutes after his sister and is therefore the youngest of the two.
John-David started to courtship his now wife, Abbie, a nurse from Oklahoma, in 2018. The two got engaged the following month, and John-David decided to propose on an old-fashioned airplane.
The couple got married in November of that year and the wedding was attended by over a thousand guests.
16. Jill Dillard Duggar (May 17, 1991 – present)

Jill Dillard was born in 1991 and is currently 31 years old. Jill met her current husband in 2011 when he went Christmas caroling at her house. However, none of the two remember seeing each other in this first encounter.
Derrick proposed to Jill in 2014 after asking her father for permission. The two got married in June 2014, and Jill soon got pregnant. They now have three sons together.

His birth was the first one of all the Duggar births to be aired on TV on the Discovery Health Channel special 14 Children and Pregnant Again.
Jackson was also the ring bearer for several of his siblings’ weddings.

Jordyn-Grace Duggar is Jana’s second youngest sibling. She was born in 2008 and is currently 13 years old. Together with her family, she moved to Cornish House in Little Rock, Arkansas, in late 2009. This happened because her younger sister, Josie, was born prematurely.
Luckily, Josie was soon able to live outside of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit allowing the whole family to return home.
